Take Action – Weds 4th June
Great Park Residents β We Need You!
The developers (The Consortium) want to expand again β but they’ve still not delivered on their original promises:
Town centre remains semi empty a decade later
Roads, paths & lights unfinished
Bins constantly forgotten to be emptied
Service charge audits for 2023β24 still hidden
Master plan promises broken
Meanwhile, other councils are stepping up to hold developers accountable. But Newcastle City Council isn’t. Why?
Take action:
1.
Join us at the meeting Wednesday 4th June from 4pm to 7pm Great Park Community Centre
2.
Ask tough questions (or post yours below if you canβt come):
*
Why is this land no longer a town centre expansion?
*
Why expand when what’s built isn’t finished?
*
Why isn’t Melbury still adopted after 13 years being finished?
*
Where is the hospital, fitness centre, allotments, hotel, pub we were all sold when we bought our houses?
*
What bus routes will be incorporated to this site and what happens when the S107 subsidy runs out and the Consortium (Developers) leave?
*
Where is the service charge audit so we can see where our money
not public money is being spent?
*
Why are service charges going up when the land needed to be maintained is getting smaller?

Not one Castle Ward councillor has responded to recent posts on this issue or supported us. Will you be there to raise these concerns? Have you already? You have our chairs number? We want you to get involved! Thom Campion Cllr Ali Avaei Andrew Herridge
To Kim McGuinness- North East Mayor and Catherine McKinnell (MP):
Weβre calling for real engagement and action β not just photo ops and PR posts.
Mayor McGuinness, weβve seen the Instagram stories showing off everything great about the North East β but where is your voice when developers break promises, residents are left with unfinished roads, and accountability is ignored at Great Park?
MP McKinnell, weβve seen your praise for the new Great Park Academy β but what about the real concerns families will face daily?
– No proper parental parking
– Unsafe, unfinished paths from the park & ride
– Drop-off chaos due to poor planning
We urge you both to comment publicly and demand that developers and Newcastle City Council address:
1. The failure to complete the existing estate
2. Lack of transparency on service charges
3. The proposed expansion before infrastructure is delivered
This is about our community, not just appearances.
Residents weβre writing to key bodies tomorrow β drop your questions, concerns, or support
below so your voice is included.
Letβs stand together for a better Great Park!
