GPNA AGM 2023
Notice of AGM
GPNA will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 24th October 6pm – 8pm at the Plaza Café in Great Park Town Centre. Please note the café servings will be formally closed but we will be offering tea & coffee.
Proposed timings:
6-7pm informal meet & greet. We are planning to invite several key partners to Great Park including current GPNA members, local councillors, Police and members of the GP consortium. This is a chance for residents to meet and to informally discuss topics that are important to them. It will also be a good opportunity for the future GPNA committee members to get a flavour of the issues that matter most to the residents.
7-8pm. AGM. Our outgoing chair will coordinate the election of the new committee.
Please note: we are very aware of the issues that we face here in GP and we know that these will feature heavily under the new leadership. However, this meeting will have focus on election to roles and the organisation of future resident meetings to discuss and progress park issues.
Overview
We are currently made up of a small group of residents and are looking to relaunch the association. This year, our acting Chair is stepping down and we are looking to hand over the GPNA to residents who will be able to use its membership and recognition by the Local Authority and Consortium to continue to press for improvements across the estate. We have had a many past successes but unfortunately have had a quieter year as officers move on. However, we are keen that the pro-active residents on this estate can join and work under the constitution of the GPNA and can affect change.
As per our constitution, the committee should consist of a minimum of 4 members of the association. Typically, the GPNA has served well having a Chair, Co-chair, Secretary and Treasurer. This year we will require as a minimum:
- Chair
- Co-Chair
- Secretary
Our Treasurer can continue in post should he be re-elected but is equally happy to retire his post should another individual be keen to take up this role.
There will be many other co-opted opportunities available for such as accessibility, neighbourhood watch or environment. If you are interested in running for roles, please feel free to either contact us directly or promote your intentions via the residents’ online groups to gather support.
